Yves Saint Laurent 1936-2008

yves Saint Laurent made famous for beautiful and important garments. The pantsuits, pea jackets, Le smoking jackets and Le smoking dresses. Yves was one of the first designers to make women feel sexy and chic in pants. At the age 21 he made his debut at Christian Dior. Four years later he launched his own couture house. In 1966 he made ready-to-wear clothing with the opening of many Rive Gauche boutiques. In the 80's his clothing were being shown in museums and he created the perfume Opium. All modern women loved his clothing , which were created after his muses. Saint Laurent first muse, his mother the elegant Lucienne. Those who followed her were Betty Catroux, Loulou de la Falaise; Mounia a black super model (a concept Saint Laurent Pioneered) and Catherine Deneuve. Partner Pierre Berg'e described Laurent as "The great will of the weak". Yves Saint Laurent died June 1, 2008. The gravestone would bear nothing but his name and the words "Couturier francais".
